NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
BMW Donford Motorrad in Stellenbosch assigned TTA to do the planning, design and installation of a variety of electronic services for their new Cape Town branch.
Establishment of the new Motorrad at 112 Buitengracht Street in Cape Town involved the complete interior renovation of the site in order to create the unique “Make Life a Ride” lifestyle theme. In partnership with the Tribe Coffee Roasting coffee shop also established in the same premises, this created a truly impressive motorbike showroom and service center.
TTA oversaw the installation of the data network, intruder alarm, AASTRA VOIP phone system, including DECT coverage throughout the site, and the public address system. The public address system was intended for general announcements, atmosphere, and to keep the staff motivated on Friday afternoons! A separate zone was implemented for the coffee shop, with separate media input and control.
In order to have the site opened in time for the December holidays stringent timelines had to be kept and contractors closely managed. This lead to the internet connection first being established using a wireless point to point link, which was switched over to fiber once the service providers route was completed.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTUAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE FIRM:
Electronic engineering and project management services.
